Schaefer's Laurel is a gorgeous hand-painted cotton yarn that knits and wears like a dream. My introduction to this yarn started with a gifted sweater kit and since then I could not wait to carry Laurel in my inventory.

3 hanks of this beautiful cotton yarn is sufficient for an average size summer top or a poncho or a shawl, and four would be just right for a not-so-hot sweater. But don't let this stop you - given the 4.5-5 stitches to the inch gauge possibilities are endless. Enjoy this lovely yarn!

Schaefer Marjaana is a luscious 50% silk 50% wool that is hand-dyed in Schaefer color lines. It comes in big 8 ounce hanks with 550 yards and knits/crochets and wears beautifully.

One hank is sufficient for a nice size scarf and hat combo. Two to three hanks make M-L sweater and two hanks make a beautiful stole/shawl/Clapotis.
 

Schaefer's Trenna, a beautiful lace weight wool/silk yarn, is aptly named after the most beautiful woman that I know, who also happens to be the woman who has saved my life in more ways than I can count, my mom. My sincere apologies for the sap but I do love her so and she is my best friend, who chose to adopt a young girl (that is me), from a far away country at an age that was not considered adoption-friendly.

Trenna, also happens to be my grandmother's name, who raised three girls including my mother. She was a homemaker and a master-quilter that belonged to a quilting bee and yes, she knitted. She loved her girls and made sure all three went to college and appreciated life and knew how beautiful they were.

Given all the above facts when Cheryl Schaefer agreed to create a yarn exclusively for Little Knits I could not name it anything else but Trenna.

I hope Trenna - the yarn - brings your day a portion of the light and joy my mom has brought into mine.

We tried to create a new version of Marjaana with a lighter gauge and this is how Marjaana-Mini came to be.

This is a limited edition of Marjaana with the same fiber combination only with a lighter gauge and smaller put up (4 ounce hanks instead of the 8 ounce of regular Marjaana).

One skeins of Marjaana-Mini would be enough for a lovely scarf, two for a great stole and three for a beautiful shawl. Marjaana-Mini can also be used for a light and silky top or if you would like to do so you can use a hank for a pair of socks.
