Alpamayo, named for one of the most conspicuous peaks in the Peruvian Andes, is a great blend of GOTS-certified Organic Peruvian Tanguis cotton and Extrafine baby alpaca.  Tanguis Cotton is known to be of exceptional quality because of its soft touch, strength, excellent absorption, and high dye affinity.  Extrafine baby alpaca keeps us warm during colder months while organic Tanguis cotton keeps us cool in warmer weather.<.p> 

With this great combination of natural fibers, Alpamayo is ideal for garments and accessories that can be worn year-round.  Alpamayo comes in big 100 gram hanks with generous 191 yards of yarn and works up at a versatile worsted weight and can also be used items for home such as colorful throws.

Fiber Content: 50% Extrafine Baby Alpaca and 50% Organic Tanguis Cotton.

Yardage: Approximately 191 yards of yarn in each 100 gram skein.

Knitting Gauge: Approximately 5 stitches to an inch on US size 6 needles (4mm).

Crochet Gauge: Approximately 2.75-3.5 sc to an inch on a US size 7 (4.5mm) hook.
