Northern Lights is a new yarn line at our store with a soft wool-silk blend that is GOTS certified. The aim of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is to define requirements to ensure organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labeling. Northern Lights is a soft wool-silk blend that comes in big 100 gram hanks with 219 yards of yarn and works up at a versatile worsted weight. The silk fiber content of Northern Light results in little tweedy highlights with a beautiful natural look. The good climate properties of this yarn make it an indoor as well as outdoor yarn, suitable for sensitive adults as well as children and babies. The wool for Northern Lights is from mulesing-free farms in South America, the silk is from India; the final production with spinning and dyeing is done in Turkey.
Fiber Content: 80% wool and 20% silk.
Yardage: Approximately 219 yards in each 100 gram skein.
Knitting Gauge: Approximately 4-4.25 Stitches to an inch on US size 6-8 (4-5mm).
Weight: Worsted.
Care: Machine wash delicate mode, lay flat to dry.
