The iinouiio project is a passion for the founders and a demonstration of what is possible with wool and luxury fibre recycling in the UK.

This is our first batch of reclaimed wool, made with loving care by iinouiio’s founders. With increasing concerns about resource depletion, climate change and 'fast fashion', we hope the iinouiio project will be supported.

Having knowledge of recycling post-consumer wool from many years ago, we are compelled to offer this alternative as our contribution to change.

 In March 2022, we partnered with Camira, a global fabric manufacturer with a far-reaching and longstanding commitment to sustainability. This new development sees state-of-the art recycling machinery - funded by UK registered environmental charity WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) - installed at the Camira Yarns site in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Creating a new textile reprocessing line which will convert preloved wool and cashmere items back into fibre for use in yarns and fabric, the machinery will be used to make iinouiio products, as well as providing wool recycling opportunities for retailers and textile manufacturers and enabling Camira to develop their own range of recycled wool fabrics. We can’t wait to see where this new step in our journey leads.

Fiber Content: 97% Wool and 3% other fibers (80% of all materials are recycled).

Yardage: Approximately 56 yards of yarn in each 50 gram ball.

Knitting Gauge: Approximately 3.5 stitches to an inch on U.S. 10 needles (6mm).

Crochet Gauge: Approximately 2-2.75 SC to an inch on U.S. K/10½ to M/13 / 6.5 hook (6.5-9mm).

Weight: Chunky.

Care: Machine washable in gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry.
