Kancha is named after the Quechuan word for “palacial courtyard or garden” and it is a light weight yarn that has a 50% super fine merino and 50% cotton fiber blend. It is available in 100 gram hanks with generous 437 yards of yarn and has an organic look and feel - like a softer linen. Kancha has a subtly textured hand-spun kind of look and gets softer with with blocking and use. It is hand-dyed in subtle color-on-color variations and works up to make beautiful light wearing garments and accessories. Ideal for year round use Kancha combines the sturdiness and warmth of merino with the coolness of cotton for a lighter wear.
