Kanzashi (簪) are hair ornaments used in traditional Japanese hairstyles. The term "kanzashi" refers to a wide variety of accessories, including long, rigid hairpins, barrettes, fabric flowers and fabric hair ties. Noro Kanzashi is a surprisingly soft boucle yarn that comes in BIG 150 gram skeins with generous 230 yards of yarn. A bulky weight self-striping yarn, Kanzashi has an organic silk, mohair, wool and viscose fiber blend and works up beautifully into colorful accessories or sweaters. Colors of Kanzashi coordinate with Noro Bachi yarn line and given their similar gauge these two yarn lines can be used together.
Fiber Content: 30% Mohair, 30% silk, 23% wool, 14% viscose and 3% polyamide.
Yardage: Approximately 230 yards in each BIG 150 gram skein.
Gauge: Approximately 2.75-3.25 stitches to an inch on U.S. size 9-10 needles (5.5-6.00 mm). 2-2.75 SC to an inch on hook size I9-L11.
