From the Japanese meaning ‘galaxy’ or ‘Milky Way’ this blended yarn captures the imagination with elements of glimmering silk and tonal wools. Ginga is a cotton and silk blend with a a tiny bit of wool and poly thrown in for stability. It is soft and wear comfortable next to skin and has a single-ply construction. Ginga is a bulky weight quick to work up yarn that is suitable for garments and accessories of all kinds. Shades range from dark and stormy to bright and spirited and work up in gradual stripes with a pretty marled look. Ginga comes in big 100 gram hanks and works up in stripes.
Please note, due to the handcrafted nature of Ginga there may be occasional knots in hanks. In addition, given the single-ply construction of this yarn we would not recommend it for projects that call for high tension or weaving projects.
